Salt. Snow. Ick. It's miserable weather, but worse for your dog, who has to walk through that junk with naked paws. The salt and freezing ice can be terrible on a pup's feet. If you've ever seen your dog stop dead, pick up his foot, and refuse to bring it down, or worse, hobble along, trust me: there are few more desperate sights. And then there is the licking and biting when your dog gets home and tries to ubergroom the crud off her feet.
But Faith, who really suffers, is now covered by Pawz, rubber booties for her paws. In her size, they're made in purple, which makes people smile. Since I don't have a good picture of Faith rocking the Pawz, let me show you a spokesmodel. I DO NOT get kickbacks from Pawz, even though I think I've convinced a dog owner to buy a pair every time I've walked Faith. They changed our winter dog walking experience, and for that, I am grateful.
