About Me

I'm a writer who's published two books, "My Fat Cat" and "My Fat Dog." I've set up this Web site to let people know about the books, and to help owners of overweight pets as much as I can. I got started working on the books because our dog, Faith, was both overweight and temporarily disabled from a wrist sprain, and over the course of a year, we helped heal her sprain...and lose 10 percent of her weight.

So I've been there, and I want to help.

I also write fiction and essays, and my work has been published in Salon, Bust, Bitch, the New York Times, and a number of fiction anthologies. I love stories, dogs, coffee, my red-headed husband, and free speech, though not necessarily in that order. Miracles are possible, but it's also important that you vote.
